Ink & Imprint Books is a new addition to downtown Lincoln, Illinois. We opened November 29, 2024, in the historic Scully Building.
Our mission is to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all book lovers. We strive to offer a diverse selection of books that reflect the interests and perspectives of our community.
Ink & Imprint Books is owned by Julie Bates. A Wyoming native, she married into a family that has called Lincoln home for many generations. Julie is also an associate professor of English at Millikin University and a freelance writer and editor. If you happen to spot her husband, Blinn, or their children in the store, they would love to offer their book recommendations too!
Please reach us at inkandimprintbooks@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Yes, we offer gift cards in any denomination. They make a great gift for any book lover!
We accept returns within 30 days of purchase with a valid receipt. The book must be in its original condition.
Yes! We work with Bookshop for online sales. When you select Ink & Imprint Books as your bookstore on the site, a portion of every purchase goes to our bookstore. Bookshop will ship books directly to you, so this is a great option if you do not live near the bookstore or want to send books to people who live elsewhere. However, please note that our in-store selection may differ from what you find online. And if you live in or near Lincoln, please consider buying directly from us to support the bookstore even more (and so you avoid shipping costs)!
Yes and yes!
E-book fans can buy e-books from Bookshop.org, and if you select Ink & Imprint Books as your bookstore, you're supporting us with each purchase. To read the books, simply download the Bookshop app for Android or iPhone. More details are available here.
Audio book lovers can purchase audio books through libro.fm. Select us as your bookstore, and we will receive a portion of each sale. Libro.fm works like Audible (actually, we think it's even better) and offers a wide selection of audio books.
Yes! If you are looking for a book we do not have in the store, just let us know. We will gladly order it for you if it is available from our book suppliers. We can also pre-order upcoming releases to help you get your next read right when it comes out. To order books, stop into the store or call or email anytime!
Yes! We are a donation-only store, and we offer a discount coupon in exchange for donations. We accept donations of good, quality books that are clean, with no markings, tears, or missing pages.
Acceptable genres include general fiction, non-fiction, classics, recent releases (preferably within the past 5 years), bio/memoir, kids/teen/YA, sci-fi/fantasy, poetry, short stories, horror, graphic novels and coffee table books. Due to limited space, we do not accept textbooks, encyclopedias, magazines, or decommissioned library books.
We accept book donations on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are not able to visit the store during that time, you can also contact us at 217-217-1200 or inkandimprintbooks@gmail.com to make an appointment.
We will review up to 8 books at a time to ensure a balanced inventory. Our staff will review submitted books and select those that fit our inventory needs while you wait in the store. Customers will need to take any books not selected for donation with them when they leave.
Our used book space is limited, and on occasion, we may run out of room to accept used books. You are encouraged to call or email prior to bringing in books to see whether we are currently taking donations.
